Client account data from Schwab, BlackRock and Vanguard is now reachable from inside Claude. Anthropic began offering Claude for Financial Advisors to enterprise customers on September 14 through its Cowork plugin browser.
The package pairs integrations with ready-made workflows for the chores that fill an advisor’s calendar. Schwab Advisor Services contributes balances, positions, transactions, cost basis and money-movement status. BlackRock sends model portfolios and institutional analytics. Vanguard adds its portfolio lineup. Addepar opens governed access spanning public and private markets, iCapital reports alternative holdings such as NAV and unfunded commitments, and Envestnet summarizes Tamarac accounts in plain language.
Anthropic’s argument is arithmetic. Advisory teams spend only about a sixth of their hours face to face with clients, it says, citing Kitces research, while an EBRI survey found more than four in ten American workers cannot name a source for retirement planning advice.
Competition for that desk space is heating up. OpenAI put market data inside a banking edition of ChatGPT on September 12, and T. Rowe Price has already spread Claude through its research teams. Anthropic is wagering that firms would rather buy connections to the systems already holding client assets than adopt a general assistant and wire it up themselves.
