AI agents can now trade on the world’s largest crypto exchange. Binance rolled out Agent OS on August 20, a developer platform that plugs agents built with tools like ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor into its trading, payments, and wallet systems.
The platform assembles the exchange’s agent-facing pieces, including its APIs, the Wallet Agentic Hub, x402 transaction verification, and Skill Hub, and adds support for the Model Context Protocol. With user authorization, an agent can read market data, review account information, and execute trades.
Binance is counting on users to keep those agents on a leash. Each agent gets its own subaccount configured for specific activities, and withdrawals from those accounts are blocked by default, creating a sandbox around the agent’s reach. Product VP Jeff Li said the company put granular control at the account level to protect user funds rather than granting total freedom.
The launch drops autonomous AI into the business of managing real money, with the exchange betting that tight per-account controls will keep the experiment from going sideways.
