A new Meta app is letting anyone type out a game idea and play it seconds later. Pocket, the company’s experimental vibe-coding app, started rolling out to US users on August 20 after a month of testing in Brazil.
The app turns text prompts into small interactive experiences Meta calls gizmos. They respond to touch and the tilt of the phone, play sound effects and song clips, and can use photos from a camera roll or the live camera. Finished games go into a scrollable feed where other people can save them, remix them, or repost them.
Pocket grew out of Meta’s earlier acqui-hire of the team behind the Gizmo gaming platform. It is the latest in a string of quick-shipped experiments, from Instagram Instants to the Forum and Seller apps, that CEO Mark Zuckerberg credits to AI-assisted development. The faster the company can build, he told analysts in July, the more ideas it can test.
The app cements Meta’s bet that AI creation tools are becoming a mainstream habit.
