A new ChatGPT Work skill can sign you into password-protected websites automatically. Launched Tuesday, it is available to Pro and Plus subscribers and works through ChatGPT’s built-in browser, which stores login cookies just like a regular browser.
On the first visit to a site, ChatGPT prompts for a username, password, or passcode, which can be typed or autofilled from a password manager. On later visits, the agent signs in silently using the saved cookies.
ZDNet tested it with Amazon and eBay accounts in the ChatGPT Windows app. The first sign-ins succeeded, but Amazon later blocked repeated access, which ChatGPT attributed to activity detection. The web version failed entirely when Amazon rejected the cloud browser.
Users can delete stored cookies under Settings, Cloud Browser, and Browser data. After removing eBay cookies, the agent required credentials again. OpenAI suggests tasks like listing wish lists and checking watchlists, positioning the feature as a step toward agents that handle account-based chores unattended.
