Meta One arrived on September 15, and its pitch is simple. Pay monthly, get more room to use Meta’s AI.
The service spans Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI, with more than 50 features split across tiers for individuals, creators and businesses. Meta says 15 million subscriptions and trials have already been signed. Everyday use of the apps stays free.
Individuals get two options. Core is $7.99 a month and Premium $19.99. Both fold in the single-app perks Meta has sold since March and add heavier allowance for its compute-hungry models: Muse Image for editing, Muse Video for generation, Restyle on Instagram, and voice effects. Meta will not publish exact ceilings, saying they move with country, surface and system conditions.
Businesses and creators pay more. Essential starts at $14.99 a month, Advanced at $49.99, Expert at $149 and Max at $499. Higher tiers unlock a richer profile, Stories scheduled 30 days ahead, Meta Business Agent access, a verified badge inside WhatsApp Business, and impersonation detection.
Early numbers suggest the strategy is landing. Market tracker Appfigures measured the week of September 9 and found Instagram collecting $1.2M a day worldwide. Facebook trailed at $528,000 a day. Against the prior week, that is a jump of 475 percent for one app and 143 percent for the other.
Meta has poured money into models worth charging for, among them a $14.3B Scale AI investment that installed Alexandr Wang over its AI work. Edits and the company’s AI glasses are next in line.
