CrowdStrike buys two agent monitors and ships a kill switch

Fiddler and Dreadnode would give Falcon a flight recorder and an attack simulator for autonomous agents, alongside a control that lives outside the model.

CrowdStrike signed agreements Monday to buy two AI security companies, Fiddler AI and Dreadnode, announced at its Fal.Con Europe conference in Barcelona.

The company did not publish a price. The Wall Street Journal reported $400M for Fiddler and $95M for Dreadnode, roughly $495M combined.

One records, one attacks

Fiddler evaluates agents before production, traces their reasoning afterward, flags drifting behavior and fabricated results, and keeps records an auditor could read. It will become Falcon Observe, working across LangGraph, Amazon Bedrock and Google’s agent toolkit.

Dreadnode runs what CrowdStrike calls offensive testing: more than 100 known attack methods, including jailbreaks and prompt injection, ranked by severity and mapped to the OWASP LLM Top 10 and the NIST AI risk framework.

Chief executive George Kurtz described the combination as a flight recorder for agents. When a board asks what an agent did, he argued, the model did it is not an answer.

The switch outside the model

The third piece is a runtime control the company calls an AI Kill Switch. Kurtz said it sits outside the model, where an agent cannot argue with it, rewrite it or wait it out.

That framing carries the commercial argument. If an operator can stop any agent at will, it can justify running more of them, and CrowdStrike sells the certainty.

Both products target general availability in CrowdStrike’s fiscal 2027 fourth quarter, with the deals expected to close in the same window. Payment is mostly cash plus vesting stock.
