Figure, the humanoid robot maker, is locking up AI compute at a scale usually reserved for cloud giants. The company has signed a strategic partnership with Nscale, an AI cloud provider, that covers up to 100,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs.
The opening commitment is worth $3.5B, and the two firms say the arrangement could grow past $6B. Deployments are due to start in the second half of 2027 at a site in Barstow, Texas.
Figure will also take a strategic investment from Nscale, and the companies plan to study whether humanoid robots could work inside Nscale’s supply chain. Figure said the deal secures reliable compute as it works to bring humanoids into homes.
Reservations of this size are becoming routine for the industry’s biggest spenders. Anthropic rents $45B in Vera Rubin capacity from Nscale, which separately lined up $3B in loans for two US campuses. Figure’s pact signals that robot builders now compete for the same scarce silicon, choosing guaranteed capacity over spot pricing.
