An agent that finishes a task at 3 a.m. still needs somewhere to leave the result, and AWS thinks that place should look like an inbox.
Pizza Bot is the answer, published as an open-source application teams run themselves. Completed work and pending decisions arrive as messages rather than interrupting a session. Earlier internal builds ran for more than 2,000 Amazon employees, covering meeting preparation, email drafts, Slack summaries, CRM logging and research.
The public version ships desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux, plus browser and terminal clients pointed at a local or standalone backend. It carries an Apache 2.0 license, and its integrations speak the Model Context Protocol.
The underlying bet is that agents should not hold a chat window hostage. Jobs queue up, state survives between runs, and anything sensitive surfaces as an approval request rather than an action already taken.
