The AI software that lets Gatik’s box trucks drive themselves is getting a $200M Series D, led by Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies. Millennium Management, ARK Invest, and Intact Private Capital also joined the round, announced August 25 from the company’s Santa Clara base. Terms did not include a valuation figure.
The cash arrives two months after Gatik’s biggest commercial win: a multi-year PepsiCo deal, signed June 8, that put fully driverless box trucks into the food giant’s supply chain across Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas.
The company’s pitch rests on middle-mile freight, the short regional routes linking distribution centers to stores, where its autonomous-driving perception and planning stack removes the safety driver entirely. Contracted revenue now tops $600M, and Gatik reports more than 85,000 completed driverless deliveries with a 99% on-time record.
Chief executive Gautam Narang cast the raise as proof of the company’s commercial standing. Koch’s venture arm has backed the company since 2021, and Intact Private Capital tripled its commitment. ARK Invest’s Cathie Wood argues the sector has moved past the pilot phase into workable commercial service.
The company runs driverless box trucks on commercial routes across North America today, a fleet still measured in the dozens, with ambitions to scale into the thousands. The focus remains on high-frequency short-haul routes, where retailers are demanding quicker, steadier restocking.
