Developers outside China can now reach Tencent’s Hy3 through the company’s cloud and agent tools. The August 5 rollout puts the 295B-parameter model on the WorkBuddy agent workspace, the Miora design studio, and Tencent Cloud’s TokenHub platform, with WorkBuddy access free worldwide until the end of the month.
Hy3 blends fast and slow reasoning on a Mixture-of-Experts architecture with 295 billion total parameters and 21 billion active, supporting a 256K context window. Tencent’s own testing puts the model on par with frontier systems two to five times its parameter count across reasoning, code, and agentic benchmarks. The weights are available under the permissive Apache 2.0 license on Hugging Face and ModelScope.
Developers can connect through the API, including via OpenRouter, where pricing starts at $0.1288 per million input tokens and $0.5336 per million output tokens.
The model came out of a rebuild of Tencent’s Hunyuan program that began in late January. Since the April preview, daily token consumption rose twenty-fold, and after the official July release Hy3 recorded more than 68 times as many API calls as its predecessor, according to the company. Tencent also claims the model ranked first on OpenRouter’s usage leaderboard within a week, a vendor-reported figure.
Regional partners Cafe24 in South Korea and Metelix in Japan will distribute Hy3 through their platforms.
