Ema has raised $77M in Series B funding to sell companies on teams of AI agents that run back-office processes end to end.
Bengaluru-based Creaegis led the round, joined by Accel, Section 32 and Prosus. The financing takes Ema’s total to $140M and lifts its valuation more than fourfold from 2024, though the company would not name the figure. The round was all primary equity.
The pitch targets spending that has long gone to enterprise software and IT services. Ema builds what it calls AI employees, systems that coordinate multiple agents across a customer’s existing applications instead of finishing one narrow task.
Chief executive Surojit Chatterjee, who founded the company in 2023 with former Okta executive Souvik Sen, expects the approach to erode dependence on traditional SaaS. “Many of our customers are already on the way to replace large SaaS applications completely,” he said, arguing those products are becoming little more than databases.
Traction is real on paper. Ema counts more than 50 enterprise deals, over a million active users and customers including NTT DATA, Hitachi, ADP, PwC and Microsoft. Bookings have passed $150M, a figure that counts multiyear contract value rather than annual recurring revenue. Chatterjee said net dollar retention sits near 180 percent and gross margins near 80 percent, with pricing tied to completed work instead of seats or tokens.
