Jamie Dimon is personally recruiting chief executives across the US economy to join an expanded industry group focused on AI risks, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The JPMorgan Chase CEO has been reaching out to leaders of large and regional banks and IT companies since July. More than 40 firms spanning financial services, energy, water, utilities, telecommunications, airlines and railroads are in the discussions, with calls scheduled for August.

The effort expands the Alliance for Critical Infrastructure, which JPMorgan helped found alongside Mastercard and Berkshire Hathaway Energy. The revamped ACI aims to build a shared understanding of how AI is being used, the risks it poses and the safeguards needed, and to work with the Trump administration on those questions.

Dimon said ACI leadership saw the need to prioritize AI “years ago and got critical infrastructure companies working together.” The group hopes to be fully functional by year-end.

Recent cyberattacks on water systems in Minnesota and other states have sharpened the case for information sharing, the sources said. Dimon has been among the most vocal bankers on advanced AI risk, warning in July that handing people access to Anthropic’s Mythos model is like “giving ballistic missiles to individuals.” The ACI push is separate from bank-led efforts to test Mythos.
