One billion kilometers of commercial autonomous driving gives Inceptio Technology a data asset few rivals can match, and the Shanghai company is packaging it as a platform it calls Freight Physical AI.
The mileage, announced on September 8, accumulated across China’s freight network, which Inceptio says its systems now cover at about 97 percent. The firm puts its share of the country’s autonomous trucking market above 90 percent.
Customers span express delivery, less-than-truckload, cold chain, general cargo and liquid food operations. Inceptio says major express carriers began specifying autonomous driving as standard equipment on heavy trucks this year.
Freight Physical AI is pitched as the next stage, with systems built around the physics of big rigs and trained on scenarios from daily operations rather than idealized test conditions.
Each logged kilometer, the company argues, makes the platform better at reproducing and resolving edge cases, and it credits the technology with safety, workload and fuel gains across its fleet.
