A campus that took just six months to go from plan to operating capacity opened August 8 in Hrazdan, Armenia: the CIS region’s largest AI factory, built by US cloud company Firebird. Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia, Kazakhstan’s deputy prime minister, and the US charge d’affaires attended the ribbon-cutting at a site running on NVIDIA accelerated computing and Dell PowerEdge servers.

The flagship DC-1 packs 6,144 liquid-cooled NVIDIA B200 GPUs across 15 megawatts, coordinated by NVIDIA’s DSX platform, which treats power, cooling, and compute as a single system. NVIDIA says that approach recovers stranded power and fits up to 40 percent more GPUs into the same footprint. Switchgear, uninterruptible power, and enclosures came from Schneider Electric, while Vertiv engineered the chilled-water cooling loop. Phase 2, DC-2, is listed at 75,000 VR200 GPUs across 125 megawatts, and Firebird targets more than 70,000 Rubin and Blackwell GPUs with 300 megawatts of capacity in Armenia by the end of 2027.

The expansion is funded in part by investors: NVIDIA intends to put money into Firebird after an earlier CoreWeave investment this year. Perplexity is already working with the company to secure infrastructure for its answer engine and AI agent platform. Beyond Armenia, Firebird describes a roughly 2-gigawatt roadmap across Kazakhstan and other frontier markets.
