Abbott’s wearable glucose sensor is becoming an input for Google’s AI health coaching. A multiyear deal will route data from the Lingo continuous glucose monitor into the Google Health app, giving the Gemini-powered coach another stream of personal health information to work with.

Users will see glucose trends next to activity, sleep, and other wellness metrics in the app. Google Health Coach, available to Premium subscribers, will factor the Lingo readings into recommendations on nutrition, activity, sleep, and recovery. Google’s published guidance stresses that the coach is not for medical purposes and that its AI responses can be inaccurate or incomplete.

The hardware behind the data is an over-the-counter sensor aimed at adults who do not use insulin. Worn on the back of the upper arm for up to 14 days, it tracks glucose levels continuously, and its underlying technology comes from Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre platform. Abbott has sold the system without a prescription in the US since 2024.

Beyond the integration, the two companies plan a large real-world study focused on metabolic health that will combine glucose readings with other health data. Abbott and Google expect the Lingo integration to begin rolling out in the Google Health app later this year.
