Nvidia is bringing Wall Street’s biggest money managers into the AI infrastructure business. The chipmaker said August 10 that it has signed memorandums of understanding with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR to create financing platforms that could channel more than $500B into AI compute over time.

Under the plan, the platforms would pool capital at scale and lend or invest on terms Nvidia calls attractive for its customers, which range from frontier labs to enterprises and AI clouds. CEO Jensen Huang framed compute as a revenue-generating asset, which is why he wants long-term capital providers independently underwriting AI infrastructure.

Together the six firms manage trillions in assets, with Apollo at roughly $1.05T, Blackstone above $1.3T, and Brookfield past $1T. Goldman Sachs’ David Solomon sees the platforms creating a credit market tied to Nvidia hardware, which points to compute-backed debt being securitized for investors rather than parked on bank books.

Nvidia’s pitch to lenders rests on the idea that GPUs produce token revenue, that CUDA updates extend their useful life, and that the hardware can move between customers when demand shifts – qualities that could let financiers treat a rack of chips the way they treat a power plant. Final agreements are still pending.
